Dean Cash is Chairman and CEO of ATEL Capital Group, a San Francisco based financial services company that sponsors public and private alternative investment programs for individual and institutional investors. ATEL’s programs provide investors an opportunity to participate in the dynamic $1 trillion US equipment leasing industry. In addition, Mr. Cash owns a controlling interest in Hawaiian Building Maintenance, the largest Honolulu based building services company with approximately 700 employees.

Mr. Cash earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and math and an MBA from Florida State University. He is a member of the Florida State University Foundation’s Board of Trustees and a supporter of the College of Business, where he established a professorship in the Department of Finance, as well as The Cash Lecture Hall in Legacy Hall, the new college of business building.

Mr. Cash began at ATEL Capital Group in 1981 as the director of marketing and, within two years, became its executive vice president and a director. In 2001, he purchased a majority interest in ATEL and became its Chairman and CEO. Under his leadership, ATEL has become a multi-billion dollar financial services company providing equipment leasing to Fortune 1000 U.S. corporations. Before joining ATEL, Mr. Cash began his career as a systems engineer with Electronic Data Systems (EDS). He later worked for General Electric Corporation, installing computerized patient records systems around North America and later sold computer services for GE’s GEISCO division.

Mr. Cash serves on the board of directors of the Gangagen Corporation, a biotech company researching new treatments for antibiotic-resistant MRSA bacteria. He is also active within the nonprofit community of San Francisco, where he serves on the Board of Governors of the San Francisco Symphony. In the spring of 2015, Mr. Cash was inducted into the Florida State University College of Business Hall of Fame where he was recognized for his professional accomplishments and community contributions (Hall of Fame video).

He and his wife Eliza established the ATEL Foundation in 2012, a private philanthropic organization dedicated to providing funding to organizations that seek to better the lives of citizens in their respective communities.

Pari Choksi joined ATEL Capital Group as a Director, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 1999. In 2001, Mr. Choksi was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Over the last decade, Mr. Choksi has been instrumental in the institutional fundraising and expanded ATEL’s global market. Mr. Choksi also oversees the Venture group as well as all aspects of Accounting, Finance, Information Technology and Human Resources for the company. Prior to joining ATEL, Mr. Choksi worked for Wink Communications Inc. as the Chief Financial Officer and had a 20-year tenure with Phoenix American Incorporated, where he held various positions including Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Director.

Mr. Choksi is the Lead Independent Director of Syntel, Inc., (a NASDAQ listed company) a U.S.-based multinational provider of integrated technology and business services. Mr. Choksi holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Mr. Choksi is the founding member of IIT Bombay Heritage Foundation and was instrumental in setting up the first US based non-profit organization for a university in India. He received the Distinguished Service Award for his contribution in this endeavor from IIT Bombay. He has also served as a Director for International House at the University of California, Berkeley. In March 2017, he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Bombay for outstanding achievements in the fields of Entrepreneurship and Corporate Leadership.

Russell Wilder serves as Chief Credit Officer, ATEL Capital Group (ACG). Mr. Wilder is responsible for all credit analysis and financial investigation performed for ATEL’s public and private fund transactions, and the ongoing due diligence review of the lessees or debtors.

Prior to joining ATEL, Mr. Wilder specialized in personal property brokerage for equipment leasing/financing as well as outside credit and collections contracting. Mr. Wilder had numerous assignments at Westinghouse Credit, Wells Fargo Leasing and Fireside Thrift Co. He was awarded the Certified Lease Professional designation by the United Association of Equipment Leasers.

Mr. Wilder holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Davis.

Johanna S. Johannesson serves as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of ATEL, with over 15 years’ experience in transactional law, including real property, private debt to emerging growth companies, and equipment leasing transactions.

Ms. Johannesson received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law where Ms. Johannesson was awarded the Walter A. Gordon Memorial Scholarship for work on employment litigation.  Ms. Johannesson received her Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles where she was awarded Highest Departmental Honors; Regents Scholar; Carey McWilliams Award; Mary Ritter Beard Award and various additional scholarships.

Ms. Johannesson is admitted as a practicing lawyer with the Bar Association of the State of California.

Mr. Robertson is responsible for oversight of ATEL Capital Group’s private debt business.

Prior to joining ATEL, Mr. Robertson served as Managing Director for Strategic Investment Group providing outsourcing of the Chief Investment Officer position (OCIO) to institutional investors. Prior to Strategic Investment Group, Mr. Robertson held positions with institutional investors at RCM Capital Management (part of Allianz), Wells Capital and SEI Investments. He also spent a number of years in product development for Charles Schwab’s Institutional team building out their Mutual Fund Marketplace.

Mr. Robertson received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from Syracuse University.

Steven Rea serves as President of ATEL Growth Capital (AGC). Mr. Rea is responsible for managing all sales and business development activities for AGC.

Prior to joining ATEL, Mr. Rea managed the venture leasing department for the emerging growth divisions at Imperial Bank (now Comerica) and LINC Capital, Inc. Mr. Rea also worked as an account executive and later Vice President of Business Development at Interlease Group Ltd., a diversified financial services company specializing in financing for venture backed companies. Mr. Rea also has a background with Automatic Data Processing as a senior district sales manager.

Mr. Rea holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance from San Diego State University as well as an MBA from St. Mary’s College.

Craig Ault serves as Executive Vice President, National Sales Manager, ATEL Leasing Corporation. He and his team are responsible for domestic and international sales and marketing of our equipment leasing products.

Prior to joining ATEL Capital Group, Mr. Ault was the EVP, National Sales Manager for Wintrust Commercial Finance, a subsidiary of Chicago based Wintrust Bank. Before that he spent over 20 years as Executive Vice President, Global Director for CSI Leasing an independent equipment leasing company. Over two decades under his leadership CSI Leasing grew annual domestic sales of $70 million to become a global equipment leasing company operating in 32 countries generating originations exceeding $1 billion annually. Steady growth in sales was a result of Mr. Ault’s visionary concepts. At CSI Leasing Mr. Ault opened new international markets and managed the implementation of administrative tools to increase efficiency in order processing as well as a customer facing portal creating high user satisfaction and retention. The company was later sold to Tokyo Century Corporation, a large Japanese financial services company.

Mr. Ault is an Evan’s Scholar who completed both under grad and Master’s degrees from the University of Missouri.

Thomas Monroe joined ATEL as a portfolio manager in the asset management department and currently serves as Senior Vice President, ATEL Equipment Services (AES). Mr. Monroe is responsible for ATEL’s asset management department, including residual valuation, due diligence, equipment inspections and negotiating renewal and remarketing for ATEL’s portfolio.

Prior to joining ATEL, Mr. Monroe was employed by GE Capital for 6 years as a portfolio manager in the computer leasing division. Mr. Monroe was responsible for re-marketing off-lease DASD and magnetic tape storage equipment.

Mr. Monroe holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.

Ray Rigo joined ATEL in 2007 and currently serves as Vice President, Fund Controller for ATEL Financial Services. Mr. Rigo is responsible for accounting and financial reporting for ATEL’s institutional and retail funds. Mr. Rigo has also served as Vice President, Controller for ATEL’s institutional funds group, and Director of Financial Reporting prior to assuming his current responsibilities.

Prior to joining ATEL, Mr. Rigo managed general accounting and financial reporting for Barclays Global Investors. Prior to Barclays, Mr. Rigo was with Bay View Capital Corporation, a regional bank holding company, where he held various positions and was a First Vice President, Director of Financial Reporting when he left the company. Mr. Rigo also held various positions in Accounting and Finance at PMI Mortgage Insurance Company and ConAgra, Inc. Mr. Rigo received his B.A. in Accounting and his M.B.A. in Finance from Golden Gate University.

Drew Waddell serves as Vice President, Corporate Controller for ATEL Capital Group (ACG). Mr. Waddell is responsible for corporate financial reporting, interfacing with external auditors, documentation and compliance.

Prior to joining ATEL, Mr. Waddell served as Controller, Dir of FP&A and Implementation for Salient Partners. Prior to Salient, Mr. Waddell was employed as Controller/FINOP at Xambala Incorporated. He was also employed as an external auditor at Ernst & Young.

Mr. Waddell received his Bachelor of Arts from University of California at Santa Barbara. He earned an M.B.A. from the Thunderbird Graduate School of Global Management. He is an actively licensed California CPA.
